Bella - A very special Girl

Drosera Hazel at Lanebern - 'Bella'

Sire: Ravensbank Cream of the Crop at Abbarsian

Dam: Drosera Deidrie

03/07/2001 - 05/12/2009

Hip Score - 30 (16:14)

It is a great sadness to report that Bella left us on 5th Dec 2009. We will miss her so much.

Bella was our very First St Bernard & was bought for me by my husband in August 2001 shortly after I recovered from Cancer.

Bella has done very well, often winning her class, and in 2003 she was Reserve Saint Bernard Dog of the Year at the Eastern Saint Bernard Club.

**Bella received her first GREEN STAR (10 point Major) at the prestigious Munster Circuit in Ireland. This was the first step towards her IRISH CHAMPION TITLE.**

Check out Bellas Show Results Here!

I had no intention of showing her, but after chatting to a few people within the breed, they convinced me to give it a go. I wish to thank those who have given me encouragement to continue & enjoy this hobby.

Like me, Bella was new to showing, and we have learned alot over the last 4 1/2 years together. Often having a few laughs along the way. Bella has really enjoyed showing & without her own little 'saintly' ways i wouldn't have found it so enjoyable.

She has also participated in Agility, which she enjoyed. Her photos showing this appeared at Crufts in 2002!

Bella qualified for Crufts in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & with great thanks to judge Mr Terry Thorn, Bella gained her Stud Book number at Southern Counties CH Show 2005 which qualifies her for LIFE for Crufts!!

Bella has also accompanied my son Jonathan in Junior Handling competition at open show & Championship show level, which they have both done very well in.

Bella is very special to me, we have become very close, she is more than I could ever ask for in a pet & companion.

**Bella was a proud mother to 5 beautiful pups in January 2006 ! All are doing well in their new homes.....**

Amber

She has now retired from showing & breeding & will live out the rest of her days in her favourite place......

Akura Stop 'N' Stare at Karmonbel - 'Amber'

Sire: Barhale Big Impression for Akura

Dam: Sanflax saint Sensation among Abbarsian

Born - 18/01/2005

Amber, or 'Diddy' as she has become affectionately known, has joined us from The Akura Saint Bernard & Great Dane Kennels owned by Sue & Ian Shadbolt.

She was a gift to our Son Jonathan from them both. Jonathan is the owner, trainer & handler of Amber & has also purchased his own affix 'Karmonbel'.

We thank them for their trust & friendship & hope that Amber will fulfill all of Jonathans expectations of owning his own St Bernard!

On 18th November 2006 Amber became a mother to Dannyspups - check out our Previous litters for further details.

Amber has sadly left us for Rainbow bridge. She is a very much missed part of the family.

Heidi

Öppis Speziells For Lanebern - 'Heidi'

Sire: Sanflax Saints Showstopper

Dam: Lanleadane Rich 'n' Smooth of Melloways

Born - 26/03/2004

Heidi has a name that comes from Switzerland, & was given to me by a friend living in Kloten it means " Something Special"

Heidi came to us in 2004 & had previously joined Bella & Louis in the show ring both in the UK & Ireland.

At the English Club limit show in Oct 2004, Heidi passed her Good Citizens Bronze award!!

Heidi had a short show career & qualified for Crufts in 2005 & 2006 but she has decided that she doesn't enjoy showing much & has therefore retired to the sofa for some much earned lazing around!

It is hoped that Heidi will become a proud mother of some beautiful pups in 2007.

Unfortunaely in November 2008 Heidi suffered a major infection, a Pyometra which left her extremely poorly & to save her life, she had to be speyed. She is now recouperating & is very happy lounging on the sofa!!

Giorgio

OPDYKE's GOING MY WAY

'Giorgio'

16/09/2004 - 07/10/2009

Sire: AM CH BRUTON VAN RIJN

Dam: OPDYKE's MAJESTIC OUTA CONTROL

Giorgio arrived in the UK in June 2008 & we were very excited.

We were very proud to introduce Giorgio into our home. He was bred by Glenn Radcliffe & Carolyn Cataldo of the Opdyke St Bernards (pronounced 'updike') in America.

Vittorio Fabrini of In Si Minore brought Giorgio to his home in Italy to join his other Saints & he has proved to be a very successful stud dog for them.

With the help of Britt Halvorsen of the Bernegarden kennel in Norway, we were very fortunate to be able to use him at stud in 2007 on our own girl Angel who then produced our lovely Simone & her litter brother Pumba for us here at Lanebern.

Giorgio has prooved very valuable to many breeders who have used him in their breeding programme. He has produced very sound & winning stock all over the world inclucing the USA, Belgium, Norway, Russia to name a few. More recently he has produced 2 UK Champions, one of which is to a to a top kennel here & also our own Simone who has recently won her first Res CC, followed by 3 CC in a row gaining her CH Title & has done very well in Ireland winning many Green Stars & Res Green Stars toward her IR CH title. Simone is also the first Saint in 3 years to gain a JUNIOR WARRANT.

Giorgio had been bought by us as a way of improving our own breeding programme/bloodlines as opposed to being a show dog.

We must say a BIG thank you to Vittorio & Britt for giving us the opportunity of bringing Giorgio to our home.

Angel has been raised & loved by us here since she was 4 weeks old along with her litter mates & her brother 'Danny'

She is a lovely kind natured dog, and we have great hopes for her future as commented by many judges.

Her first show was Midland Counties CH show in Oct 2005 where she won Best Puppy Bitch in Breed!!

Angel continued to do well, clocking up a RESERVE BEST OF BREED at only 8 months old and we would like to thank all the judges for recognising her qualities.

She also won Reserve Green Star Bitch at the Killarney All Breeds CH show which is part of the Irish Munster Circuit.
