JONATHAN HAS QUALIFIED FOR THE YKC HANDLING AT CRUFTS 2008!! & now Richmond 2008!!

Jonathan handled the well known Tibetan mastiff (Sierras Yogananda - 'Yogi') in the YKC Handling class at Boston & District CH Show on 5th Jan 2007 & won the class to qualify for the YKC Handling at Crufts 2008!!

Due to his usual charge 'Danny' being indisposed on this occasion, He was offered & only met 'Yogi' a few minutes before the class started & had very little time to practise showing a Tibetan mastiff.

Jonathan is proud to announce the arrival of 'Tori' his new Tibetan Mastiff Puppy. She is a daughter of the very well known Sierras Yogananda 'Yogi' who he has handled in the past.

Jonathan & 'Tori' competed for the very first time at Bournemouth CH Show under Mr Terry Munro. at JUST 6 MONTHS OLD She won her class (Junior Bitch - No puppy class) & went on to win BEST PUPPY IN BREED & then a shortlist to the final 6 in the puppy working group!! She has also qualified for Crufts 2008!

At Nuneaton Canine Society on 9th April 2007 Jonathan & Danny win Best Junior Handler in Show!!

Jonathan had the privalege to handle the very well known Pyrenean Mountain Dog, CH Shanlimore Midnight Cowboy at The Pyrenean Mountain Dog Club Of Great Britains CH Show on 11th February 2007. 'Bradley' & Jonathan competed in the 11+ Junior Handling Class, and I am delighted to say that they WON!! The judge commented on Jonnys ability to take a 'unknown' dog & handle him professionally & calmly. Well done Boys & Thanks to Dave & Chris of Shanlimore Pyreneans for entrusting this VERY special dog to Jonathan.

Junior Handling started for Jonathan when he came to companion shows with us when he was very young. He loved 'showing' the dogs there and was very confident & calm with them.

When we started showing 'Bella' our first St Bernard at the Breed Club shows, he would take part in the Junior Handling classes they held & after a few months, he was winning Best Junior Handler in show! Jonathan then went onto showing in Junior Handling classes at all levels & is a member of the Junior Handling Association.

Many people saw his confident handling abilities, and have since asked whether he would handle their dogs for them at CH show & Open show level, which he has enjoyed, and again been very sucessfull in!

Apart from being placed at most of the shows he competes in, Jonathan has constantly qualified for the Richmond Junior Handling Semi finals. He insists on continuing to show a GIANT BREED, even though most of the time the odds are stacked against him as judges seem to penalise him for handling such a big dog which Marina White comments on in her critique of Jonathan here!!

Some of Jonathans best accolades so far at Open & CH show level where they have actual classes have been 2nd at the JH Semi Finals at Richmond CH Dog show in Sept 2004, Runner up team in the UK Dog Handlers Association International Show Handling Team Match Finals in June 2006, Best Junior Handler at Bedford Canine Society Open Show in August 2005, Best Junior Handler at Retford Canine Society in March 2005, Best Junior Handler at Milton Keynes & District Open show where his judge on this day was the very well known Junior Handler Marina White. Marina herself is the ex- Scottish, British and World Junior Handling Champion!!

Jonathan has also taken part in the Show Handling course which teaches him how to get the BEST from any dog that he shows! You can see his awards in the Certificates album above.

Since doing so well in handling, Jonathan has been granted his own affix 'Karmonbel' which will be used for our impending litter by Danny & Amber who we now co-own with Jonathan.

Keep popping back for more on how he & Danny are doing with their showing!

Don't forget to sign our Guest book.
